PENGEMBANGAN APLIKASI MOBILE LEARNING BERBASIS ANDROID SEBAGAI MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN INTERAKTIF PENDUKUNG LITERASI KELAS VIII SMP
Abstract
ABSTRACTS
The low literacy achievement of Indonesian students in PISA 2022 (369 points, ranked 69th out of 80 countries)
indicates the need for more effective learning interventions from an early stage. PISA assesses the literacy skills
of students aged between 15 years 3 months and 16 years 2 months (OECD, 2022), which is approximately two
to three years after students are in Grade VIII of junior high school (aged 13–14 years). Therefore, improving
literacy at this level is essential to prepare students for international assessments such as PISA.This study
developed an Android-based mobile learning application called Kelas Literasi for Grade VIII junior high
school students in the subjects of Indonesian Language, Mathematics, and Science using the ADDIE model
(Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The evaluation was conducted through blackbox testing and a Likert scale questionnaire administered to 32 students of MTs As-Syafi’iyah 01 Jakarta. The
results showed that all application features functioned according to specifications without significant errors.
User assessments yielded an overall score of 83.6% (feasible category), with the Interactivity and Supporting
Features aspects obtaining the highest score of 86.6%. Thus, the Kelas Literasi application is deemed feasible
to be used as a digital learning medium that supports early literacy improvement among Grade VIII junior high
school students.
