Abstract

A Decision Support System (DSS) is a tool designed to assist complex decision-making processes involving multiple criteria. In the context of employee selection, accurate decisions are crucial for companies to obtain competent human resources aligned with organizational needs. This study developed a DSS for employee selection using the Weighted Product (WP) method. This method was chosen because it is capable of processing multi-criteria data by multiplying the values ​​of each criterion raised to the power of its importance. The assessment criteria used include attendance, work ethic, loyalty, teamwork, and individual abilities, with weights determined based on company priorities. The calculation process is carried out through the stages of forming S vectors and V vectors to produce a final ranking. The results of the study indicate that the WP method can provide more objective, measurable, and consistent employee rankings, resulting in a faster, more accurate, and more systematic selection process. However, this system still has limitations because it does not consider qualitative factors such as personality, communication skills, or the results of direct interviews. Therefore, this system is more appropriate as a supporting tool, not the sole basis for determining the best employees.
