Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology compels enterprises to adopt network systems that are reliable, flexible, and efficient in supporting dynamic business operations. Traditional WAN architectures based on MPLS technology are increasingly perceived as inadequate to meet current demands. To address these limitations, Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) technology emerges as a modern solution, enabling the intelligent and centralized utilization of various network connections. This study examines the implementation of LTE-based backup connectivity using the Last Resort Circuit method on Cisco SD-WAN technology. The objective of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Last Resort Circuit method in minimizing downtime, enhancing network management efficiency, and ensuring service continuity. A case study methodology was applied, combining practical implementation with performance analysis of the network before and after the deployment of the LTE Backup Failover solution. The findings indicate that the Last Resort Circuit method improves network availability, optimizes data traffic management, and reduces operational costs compared to traditional failover mechanisms. Moreover, this solution strengthens both the security and redundancy of enterprise network systems. The implementation of LTE Backup Failover using the Last Resort Circuit method on Cisco SD-WAN is proven to be an effective approach and can be recommended for organizations requiring high network reliability with cost efficiency.
