PENENTUAN PENERIMA BEASISWA DI STMIK BANI SALEH DENGAN PERBANDINGAN METODE ALGORITMA C4.5 DAN KNEAREST NEIGHBORS
Scholarships play an important role in the world of education. Scholarships are financial assistance given to students to complete their education. Scholarships are awarded by governments, foundations, institutions or other institutions. Each scholarship has certain requirements. The scholarship program is highly expected by students, especially students who are outstanding but are economically constrained. Providing scholarships is a concern of universities to students. The form of community participation, institutions and students themselves in participating in building the nation, especially in the field of education. With the comparison of the two methods, it is hoped that the determination of scholarship recipients will be on target and more accurate. The methods used are the C4.5 and K-NN algorithms to classify scholarship recipients at STMIK Bani Saleh who registered in 2019. These two methods were chosen to produce a determination of whether or not to accept the scholarship acceptance. Calculations using the C4.5 Algorithm formula are carried out step by step in detail. While K-NN stages are more concise and easy. The results of both algorithms are equally used but the K-NN algorithm is easier. The algorithm that has a very high accuracy value is the C4.5 algorithm.
